Department of Electrical Engineering Classes using Cadence Products

  • Analog Integrated Circuit Design: Circuit Design
  • Electronics I/II

As part of this class, the University of Arkansas is including the first implementation outside the University of Southampton of the “Superchip”, an innovative teaching method for integrated circuits at undergraduate level. The Southampton Superchip has been pioneered at the University of Southampton in the UK, leading to publications at EWME 2008 and CICC 2008, a University of Southampton Vice Chancellor’s teaching award 2008, and the basis for a teaching program across the Cadence University Network of integrated circuit design. The program includes a standard integrated circuit framework enabling undergraduates to experience the full IC design flow, from concept to manufacture and testing at an undergraduate level. The University of Arkansas is the first University in the USA to adopt this approach and undergraduate students have successfully completed integrated silicon chips every semester since 2008.
